A Departure Morning With Fewer Decisions
Move the choices to the evening before, so the morning can be a short sequence instead of a scramble.

Check the real departure time
Work backward from when you must leave, not from the scheduled flight or train. Include the time required to reach the station or airport and any recommended arrival buffer.
Stage the essentials
Put the packed bag, keys, wallet and documents in one safe place. Keep required medication in the bag that stays with you, not in luggage that might be separated.

Leave a reset note
Write a tiny list for the last sweep: lights, windows, devices and door. Follow it once, then leave without repeating the whole house check from memory.

Should I pack the morning I leave?
Only the things that cannot be packed earlier; stage the rest the night before.
