Check the current travel status, address and local departure time. Save any ticket or confirmation where it is accessible offline if connectivity may be limited.
Collect the small essentials
Use one pocket for keys, ID, wallet and phone. Check medication, charging cable and weather layer in the bag that stays with you.
Close the house once
Follow a brief written check for appliances, windows, lights and door. Then leave; repeating the circuit usually adds worry rather than useful information.
What if plans change at the last minute?
Recheck the route and timing first, then adjust clothing or supplies only if the new plan requires it.
